Master Degree Program Digital Engineering

The master degree programme refers to students with a Bachelor-degree or Diploma-degree in Engineering terms or in Informatics. The study imparts comprehensive knowledge for development, construction and operation of complex and technical products as well as systems to be found in industrial engineering or in car industry. It also qualifies the alumni for sophisticated employment and line functions to support and execute projects for use of modern IT-solutions, e.g., virtual and augmented reality, in the application area of engineering terms as well as in areas of industrial, industry-oriented and academic research.

The degree programme procures important competences for realization of academic research and industrial advance development. It will be reached by a combination of methods of informatics and engineering terms and domains. Special project work which exceed comparable offers, will prepare the students for special challenges of interdisciplinary research. A significant focus is on functional contents for latest technologies in development and operation of engineering solutions as well as on procurement of knowledge of methods which is a necessary condition for these successful inserts. Selected contents of the study are offered in coordination with partner of industry-oriented research and applied sciences. The key competences teached focus on interdisciplinary communication and project work which enable the students to take executive positions and interface positions because of their interdisciplinary knowledge. An infovideo(.flv) has been produced within a student project to better describe the Digital Engineering master degree programme.

Study course Digital Engineering

The master program Digital Engineering aims at domestic and international students with a bachelor's degree from a scientific engineering area or computer science. The program provides extensive knowledge for the development, design and operation of complex, technical products and systems like the currently used systems in production technology or the automotive industry. The education qualifies graduates for challenging activities and leadership roles in planning and execution of projects using modern IT solutions such as virtual and augmented reality in application areas in engineering sciences and in the field of industrial, and industry-related as well as academic research. The predominant practical content of the program is conducted in collaboration with the engineering departments and partners of industry-related research.

Graduates of the master's program in Digital Engineering are engineers who work on challenging tasks and take over leadership roles in the planning and execution of projects using modern IT solutions such as virtual and augmented reality. Applications areas can be found in industry and industry-related academic research.

Double Degree

Within the SEAR DE project, the OvGU will establish a double degree program together with Thai universities. The indent of the double degree program is to combine the expertise of the participating institutions to improve the quality of available study course and to provide further opportunities for students. The participating Thai universities will provide high quality lectures in the different engineering field, such as computational, mechanical, electrical engineering, etc., whereas the OvGU will provide specialized lectures in the field of Digital Engineering. Currently, the KMUTT, SIIT and CMU are participating in the establishment of the Thai German Double Degree Program together with the OvGU.
Within the Double Degree Program, students will study at least one semester abroad to study at the corresponding partner institution. Therefore, students will be given the opportunity to learn a new language and get to know the culture and habits of a foreign country.
